We are looking for an SEO Leader to design, shape, and drive the SEO strategy for the next generation of search engine optimization.  This Leader will drive SEO to compete locally in markets around the world.

The ideal candidate will have previously built solutions that enable and drive innovation in search engine optimization. This leader will have a deep passion for leading cross functional teams to define strategy and the analytics that support it .  A focus on customer needs and market demands, from both a buyer and seller perspective, is critical to success.  This leader will work closely with product, engineering and domain leads to build SEO capabilities that will lead the industry.


  • Clearly define the product strategy to lead eBay in Search Engine Optimization and create a reputation as industry leader.

  • Partner closely with a high performing analytics and insights team that will define and set standards for SEO measurement, performance, and ROI.

  • Maximize global efficiencies with the ability to customize and innovate for local markets.

  • Provide SEO leadership and support for all forms of commerce merchandising across web, mobile, social, and video content platforms

  • Partner to create and enhance the necessary technical architecture, and link building strategy for the product catalog and overall commerce experience

  • Develop best practices for all newly developed code and content across eBay marketplaces.

  • Engage editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming

  • Build relationships and algorithm expertise for key search engines like Google and Bing

  • Ability to both quickly assess SEO criteria as well as be predictive in terms of what users will value and next gen criteria for search engines


  • Industry Leader in SEO product management and technology, preferably for complex global products with a large user base

  • Demonstrated ability to craft SEO strategies based on the needs of the customer.

  • Ability to use market research and customer data to make disciplined product and strategy decisions

  • Proven ability to work with a larger cross-functional team to define the team’s business strategy, product strategy, and backlog

  • Solid financial and analytical skills, experience in translating complex business issues into clear goals and product requirements

  • Strong drive and curiosity to come up with new ideas, identify opportunities and create vision to drive the business forward

  • Passion, and a proven track record, for delivering experiences that delight customers

  • Ability to shift from developing and communicating a strategy to executing in a cross-functional, matrixed organization
