This is a unique opportunity to join eBay, the world’s largest ecommerce company, in the EMEA PT leadership role for StubHub. Reporting directly to the Head of the EMEA center based in Bilbao, the Tech-Ops and Dev-ops Senior manager will be responsible for all IT operations and performances of our global sites in tandem with other dev centers in San Francisco and Shanghai. Also responsible for initiatives to build better automation tools around the new platform built on top of Pivotal and GCP.
StubHub is looking for an experienced leader with a corporate mindset and a proven track record of running enterprise level systems and operations. The successful candidate will hold full day-to-day responsibility for his Ops team. He will be responsible for the coordination of the follow the sun operation model. He will be responsible for building a high effective team that will support the EMEA development center. He will contribute to building the next platform generation based on PCF and GCP.
Along with a strong technical background, the candidates will also excel in collaborating across development centers, in building a network of peers and stakeholders, always assuring the alignment of his team. As our engineering team member, you will:
Run 24x7 follow the sun operations to assure the up-time and good customer experience according to company SLAs of all Stubhub worldwide services Manage, lead and develop a multidisciplinary team for ensuring product success through strategic use of technologies such as AWS, GCP, PCF, private cloud, monitoring, network, security, Linux, Oracle, Etc.
Lead the automation of the core business processes and tools to reach speed via agility of our development operations
Increase operational excellence by building better application monitoring to detect issues before the user can be impacted.
Assure that detailed trouble reports are provided in order to prevent from re-occurrences by driving the resolutions of the root causes.
Define standards for operational processes and documentation like run books.
Define standards for application visibility via monitoring and detection.
5+ years of IT Operations management experience.
AStrong technical background with more than 10 years’ experience in IT Ops and Infrastructure.
Experience in leading DevOps team producing tools automation by following the best in class SDLC.
Demonstrate the ability to manage diverse set of team members under challenging and pressurized scenarios.
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts, regardless of the technical level of the audience.
Strong people interaction and relationship building skills across multiple functions within the organization.
Strong sense of ownership, accountability and customer focus
Self-driven individual, who can drive actions and initiatives with minimal direction and oversight.
Deep understanding of support procedures and methodologies for a 24*7*365.
Experience in leveraging cloud technologies and migrating solution to the cloud.
Experience in GCP and PCF is a plus.
Experience with configuration management systems.
A strong understanding of web technologies.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Experience in LAMP stack.
Solid networking and virtualization knowledge.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in a technology discipline.
