Job Description Summary

C2C Selling Team:

We are seeking a highly motivated, talented and passionate application developer to build and innovate on the eBay commerce experience. You will be working on high-volume web applications that power the eBay marketplace, providing an engaging selling experience for millions of customers daily and generating billions of dollars in annual revenue. You will be part of a team that manages the highly trafficked selling flow which customers use to list their on eBay. Performance, reliability, scalability and accuracy are of utmost importance as these are some of the most critical flows on eBay and the slightest glitch can have a huge financial impact for eBay and our customers.

You will work closely with business units, product management, user experience designers and quality engineering to innovate, build and ship product solutions that improve the customer experience and meet business objectives. You will work with other talented team members to tackle a myriad of technical challenges and help shape the next generation experience.

Job Requirements:

  • 4+ years of work experience in software design and application development or MS in Computer Science plus 2 years of experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience and expertise in object-oriented design methodology and application development using Java/J2EE, Design Patterns, Spring MVC, SQL, Web services

  • Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures and algorithms

  • 2+ years of experience in developing high performance, highly scalable, database driven consumer web applications

  • Good understanding of web services and SOA related standards like REST/OAuth/JSON

  • Experience with Spring, OSGI and other open source frameworks is a plus

  • Experience with agile development methodologies such as Test Driven Development (TDD) is a plus

  • Must be proactive, self-directed, detailed and organized

  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, iterative development environment
