The eBay Checkout team, owners of one of the (if not THE) most critical flows in eBay, is looking for stellar engineers to join the team by developing next generation web applications & tools on the newest tech stacks. This is a very exciting and meaningful chance to create a huge impact on the millions of eBay users. This is also a chance for someone to come in and be the technical authority on key flows within eBay. This role will be best for someone who advocates for doing the right thing and collaborates with management in defining the requirements, choosing the technologies, designing a world-class architecture and putting those in the time line and then works toward that.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Coding. Living and Breathing awesome Code. If you don’t like to code, this won’t be the right fit for you.
Be part of an agile software development team and sharing responsibilities of testing and development as the role demands.
You will need a strong quality and security focus including automation, design reviews, and unit testing.
This role requires a strong applied experience. You’ve built, broken, and rebuilt software applications. We’re looking for creative thinkers who also know how to build real-world products.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills with orientation towards innovation and open source tools.
You have designed and delivered highly scalable multi-tiered distributed software applications.
You will mentor and guide developers in coding and design methodology and page performance. You enjoy driving the architecture and design of Java based software system based on internal and external standards.
In addition, you will lead product initiatives, drive innovations, conceptualize, code, deploy and iterate on next generation prototypes.In order to be successful, candidates will have a flexible approach to analyzing technical issues and clearly communicating recommendations/solutions.
We emphasize a cross team development with Product managers, Project managers, engineers, and QA to deploy innovative solutions to meet business unit requirements.
You will be proficient in agile development methodologies.
- BSEE, CS + 5 yrs or MS + 4 yrs
- Fluent in data structure and (preferably) Java programming.
- SOA Development and/or test experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of software engineering principles and methodologies.
- Solid background in software development.
