Opportunity Overview
To support the dynamic and growing eBay Classifieds business we are expanding the Global Mobile team in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This position will report into the global mobile Head of UX & Design and work closely with colleagues in Portland, as well as stakeholders and teams in Amsterdam. This is a unique opportunity to help extend the reach and impact of our global team by working with a fully cross-functional squad at our headquarters in Amsterdam. As an experienced designer with a great portfolio, you think mobile-first but are equally versed in cross-platform/omni-channel design considerations.

Position Summary
The Global Product Designer is dedicated to using our global design principles, processes, and practices to create best-in-class UX for our eBay Classifieds group products. You speak the voice of the customer, understand business needs, and embrace the overlapping opportunities. You are responsible for keeping the design consistent and scalable across our portfolio, starting with mobile. You help us to understand design trends and help the organization look toward the future. You work closely with and help support key central initiatives as identified and prioritized by the global mobile team.

In this role, you will be expected to facilitate the design process from discovery to validation. You have a passion for making great products and measure success based on user satisfaction. You embody a balanced, mature approach to design, with skills in the disciplines of information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and user research.


An understanding of human psychology informs your work. You draw from a diverse set of techniques and tools, producing deliverables including wireframes, flows, mockups, prototypes, presentations, and production assets. You work closely with developers to ensure your designs are technically well considered and feasible. A close collaboration with product managers helps you prioritize the work that will have the biggest positive impact for our users and our business.


Relevant Experience
Hands on design skills. Your work demonstrates knowledge of customer-centric design thinking and methodology. You are comfortable creating thoughtful presentations, wireframes, flows, mockups, and prototypes with tight timelines. You have strong interaction design and visual design skills.

Applied creativity. You maintain an open mind and are not afraid to explore unique, new solutions and methods, alongside more conventional solutions and processes.

Inclusivity. You think globally, considering cultural variables and diverse perspectives while striving to create scalable systems.

You have a balanced approach to data; both quantitative analytics data and qualitative user research are sources of insights to inform your decisions.

4-7 years of experience designing products (focus on iOS and Android) for a consumer oriented company.

BS/BA in Design, HCI, Cognitive Science, or related field preferred - but evidence of great design skills is the most important factor.

Must have a strong portfolio showing mobile design samples with your role in the design process and final deliverables.
