eBay Inc.’s innovative Legal Department is seeking an experienced financial regulatory compliance professional focused on compliance process and consumer protection. The role can be based in Austin, or Salt Lake City. Your responsibilities will include implementing and carrying out processes for tracking legal requirements and ensuring key partners receive timely updates regarding new legal trends and requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible for development and implementation of internal training and controls to ensure ongoing compliance with US and Canadian consumer protection regulations from state and federal regulators.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams from Product, Go To Market teams, Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit to help deliver an outstanding buying and selling experience for our customers while ensuring eBay’s payment entities are successfully complying with existing legal. The ideal candidate has prior experience with payment businesses within FinTech companies and/or other global marketplaces. Prior experience building out operational compliance programs is also preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement controls and training related to consumer protection

  • Develop and implement processes for maintaining inventory of legal requirements and ensuring business and functional partners receive consistent and timely updates related to legal trends and requirements applicable to our payments business

  • Help develop efficient, customer-centric compliance strategies

  • Work with business and functional partners to implement compliance reviews and operational controls

Qualifications:

  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience implementing relevant compliance programs and compliance controls, including development of overall governance requirements and creation of policies and procedures

  • The ability to build positive relationships quickly and interact with junior to senior business leaders with ease

  • Willingness to be flexible with the scope and variety of projects to be undertaken in this role

  • Comfort with ambiguity, constant change, a fast-paced culture, and a practical, solutions-oriented focus to solving compliance challenges

  • Capable of working with minimal direction

  • Strong judgment and project leadership skills and someone who is always thinking about better ways of doing things
