Creating successful digital experiences takes an obsessive attention to details as well as the inventiveness to work around technical challenges not only to create something new and unique but also to make sure it is implemented and delivered with the highest level of fit and finish.

eBay Design is looking for a passionate, hardworking, Sr. Designer with a deep expertise on Design execution. In this position, you’ll have a significant impact on the customer experience by assuming a crucial role in the eBay design process. You’ll advocate and be a champion of bridging the gap between Design and Development. You'll work closely with Design, Engineering and Business partners across a variety of platforms, learning new technologies, and crafting processes to ensure our product consistently meets an ever-higher bar of quality, innovation, and performance.

We are looking for a true inspiring leader, that’s self-directed and passionate about creating immersive and inspiring experiences. We are not looking for pixel pushers, but for designers who like to push projects and shepherd designs all the way through our customers.

Goals

  • Support eBay Design’s mission to reimagine the Company’s future through delivery of world-class customer experiences.

  • Take an active role in building the Bridge team at eBay and help bridging the gap between Design and Development.

Responsibilities

  • Work horizontally across a variety of projects and teams, supporting both Design and Engineering.

  • Work with interaction, visual, motion designers and developers to determine the best way to execute designs

  • Output and organize files into a consistent structure for development handoff

  • Actively participate in concept development and design iteration, crafting working prototypes to explore and test new features and products.

  • Design custom tools and automations to help expedite design and business objectives.

  • Advocate for Design Execution at eBay, demonstrating value by consistently delivering work that inspires.

  • Serve as a bridge between design and development, ensuring that design vision is maintained through the E2E process.

  • Effectively present team work, with clear communication about intent and process.

Qualifications

  • A portfolio of strong interaction design, design systems, and product design work.

  • Excellent at exploring design solutions at both a systematic level and feature level.

  • Comfortable expressing and recommending trade offs on design decisions.

  • System thinker; you can see how all the parts fit together, and how a small change can propagate throughout the system.

  • Deep understanding on how designs is implemented. Can collaborate with design technologists and front-end engineers to ensure designs are perfectly implemented.

  • 3–5 years of experience as a design systems or product designer at a digital product company, contributing to or leading the design and visual execution of product experiences.

  • Expertise with Figma, Sketch, Zeplin, (and other design tools).

  • Experience working on product design teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Able to speak design with designers, and development with developers.

  • Passionate for all things design and the intersection of design & technology.

  • Extremely high attention to detail. You set the bar for what we aim to do in our products.

  • Self-directed, flexible, and able to run with specs in flight.

  • Willingness to both teach and learn. Humble and hard working. Respectful. Excited to build the next eBay.
