Front End/Full Stack Engineer

eBay is looking for a skilled full stack engineer with a thirst to learn big data technologies. You will help drive the evolution of eBay's marketplace with over 160 million active worldwide users.

Job Responsibilities

You will responsible for designing and developing front end products for eBay internal web portal that will assist eBaybusiness teams to monitor and derive insight on products. You will need to collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analystsand Data Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products. You need to have a keen eye for detail and ability to resolve performance issues with UI. DevOps responsibilities for eBay internal cloud infrastructure that powers the UI will alsofall under your purview.In addition to these core responsibilities you need to have a passion for working with large data sets and willingness to learn and code in SQL/NoSql technologies todo last mile data engineering to build the data usable for the reports and also tackle any performance issues like indexing/caching. The team is friendly, highly motivated and maintains a fun, professional work environment that fosters innovation and career growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of JavaScript/HTML/CSS experience
  • 4+ years experience with REST APIs using Java/Python
  • Experience with web frameworks like AngularJS, NodeJS and data visualization JS libraries is a plus
  • Ability to debug and fix performance issues with UI.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, Linux.
  • Working knowledge of traditional SQL systems like Oracle/MySQL/Teradata.
  • Working knowledge of NoSQL Systems (Hadoop, Hive, Spark)
  • Experience with agile and waterfall project development methodologies
  • Excellent programming skills - Java/Python/Scala
  • Outstanding problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • MS in CS or related engineering field with 3+ years of job relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in CS or related engineering field with 5+ years of relevant job experience
