The newly founded eBay Classifieds Motors team operates worldwide from our offices in Amsterdam and Berlin. As part of the product development team in either Berlin Friedrichshain or Dreilinden near Potsdam (your choice!), you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and have impact across all our markets by providing innovative capabilities for all of our apps and sites.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a new, innovative product and we are looking for you as a Senior UX Researcher (f/m).
As a User Experience Researcher you will work collaboratively with our design, product and
engineering teams. You will design and execute primary research to understand our customers’
needs and pain points on the global MoVe platform.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
Conduct multi-screen research to inform the definition and development of our products. Research spans from generative research to design, launch and measurement of product performance
Design, plan and conduct user research, employing methods such as: remote usability, field studies, competitive evaluations, usability studies, RITE studies, surveys, diary studies, and other relevant approaches
Provide insight and vision to the team based on understanding user needs and behaviors
Lead stakeholders in translation of research findings into actionable results, activating design thinking and concept making through facilitation.
Build strong relationships with Designers, Product Managers, Marketing, Analytics and Engineers locally AND with Product/UX teams in other geographies to deliver impact on our global products
Synthesize research findings from other data sources (including market research, site analytics and secondary research) into meaningful recommendations and actionable results
Advanced Degree in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, Information Architecture or related field
3+ years experience in user research
Formal training (course work) in a variety of user experience research methods (such as lab and field research, survey design, statistical analysis)
Strong oral and written communication skills in both English (German is Plus)
eCommerce experience a plus
Proven Experience in planning, preperation and management of UX Research studies in different countries
- Proven Experience in defining processes with designers, product teams and other stakeholders how to implement UX Research into the product development process
Knowledge of research methods and tools across devices and markets
Knowledge of user-centered design principles, UX standards and fundamental user behaviors
Knowledge of a variety of quantitative and qualitative user research methods including remote studies, lab and field studies, competitive benchmarking, diary studies, heuristic evaluations, survey research, etc.
Experience with remote usability tools
Deep understanding of the nuances of different methods and how best to combine them to meet research objectives
Ability to develop creative approaches to researching complex user experience problems and convey ideas in a tangible form
