This role sits within the Advertising Team of eBay and is reinventing advertising at eBay! Our goal is to build a valuable experience for both buyers and sellers, while also driving advertising revenue. It is an exciting sales role for an individual driven by numbers who is also capable of putting our sellers and brands first, and take a consultative approach towards our sellers and brands while driving performance for ads.

We are seeking a number driven sales hard worker ideally from an advertising sales background that can bring their drive knowledge of advertising products to help build and grow our relationships with our key sellers and brands. As an Advertising Sales Manager, you will be responsible for adding velocity to the seller’s business on the platform for your assigned brands, by taking a consultative and a seller first approach.

You will report to the Head of Brand Partnerships and will use a combination of your knowledge of advertising including client side and agency relationships and deep understanding of e-commerce and e-commerce media to act as a strategic partner for your clients and be part of their growth on the platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify partnership and business development opportunities with an assigned select group of high potential brands and sellers consistent with the eBay Ads strategy

  • Build strong and effective relationships with your key sellers and brands

  • Educate sellers on eBay’s suite of advertising products and help sellers choose what’s right for them – seller first approach

  • Monitor and improve the key metrics for success

  • Define terms, negotiate and execute deals in complex situation

  • Work directly with Head of Brand Partnerships to uncover business needs and develop proposals for big accounts

  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams at eBay to ensure partner success

  • Evaluate feature requests, gather detailed business requirements from Seller and work closely with our core business to drive efficient and optimal solutions

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years of e-commerce media, Shopper Marketing, digital media, and or partnership development

  • 3+ years of leading client relationships, and working with senior client executives

  • History of success closing complex business deals

  • Distinctive creative, strategic and analytical capabilities with a consistent track record of setting and delivering against measurable metrics

  • Strong communication skills in and proven success with external partners

  • Consistent track record of high-level negotiation

  • Ability to work within a highly matrixed organization with widely varied stakeholders

  • Ability to work with an evolving and ambiguous environment

  • BA/BS

Ideal profile:

  • 5+ years of experience in advertising and e commerce

  • 3+ years in sales

  • Deep understanding of online advertising, search, ad-tech, and Digital media

  • Strong working relationship with consumer-facing product ideally within the advertising space

  • Proven experience to thrive in a highly matrixed and multilayered environment, executive presence

  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and in a reactive workplace
