You will report to the Director of Verticals France, Italy and Spain eBay marketplaces, being responsible of managing the development of the Motors Vertical in France, Italy and Spain eBay marketplaces. Motors Vertical includes Parts & Accessories for cars and motorbikes, as well as vehicles.

You should have the ability to work with top leaders but also to roll up your sleeves and work tactically with individuals across the organization to drive key initiatives.

You will be responsible of reaching the sales goals of the Motors categories, in the French, Italian and Spanish marketplaces, by defining and executing comprehensive plans to develop the categories, involving all the areas of the business (Analytics, Seller management, Marketing, PR, Trading, Vehicles Classified Business and other areas of eBay as well as external partners.

Typical activities in this role would include:

  • Source relevant buyer data from the different Analytics teams, as well as off-eBay market data and insights from any available source, including eBay Research and Strategy teams.
  • Surface the needs of French, Italian and Spanish buyers in the Motors category, and identify inventory and shopping experience gaps.
  • Identify inventory gaps and prioritize categories/subcategories to be developed, products to be sourced and price levels required. Coordinate with seller management teams for seller acquisition and inventory sourcing.
  • Define target customer audiences, customer journeys and design associated landing experiences. Coordinate with technical teams for the deployment and maintenance of buyer experience features.
  • Negotiate with marketing, trading and PR teams the appropriate promotion on prioritized categories.
  • Integrate all the previous in compressive plans to develop the motors category, putting together inventory, shopping experience and promotional actions.
  • Participate in the definition of the yearly objectives of the motors category.
  • Maintain the relationship with partners participating in the development of the motors category.
  • Report periodically on Motors category planning and performance to senior management.

Job Requirements:

You will need to demonstrate excellence in the following:

  • Passion for motors: Deep knowledge of the motors industry and the online/offline retail ecosystem around motors and parts & accessories; practitioner of motors DIY and P&A online and offline shopper.
  • Long-term vision: Develop long-term strategy for buyer development by combining inputs from macro level market conditions, competitive environment, customer input & feedback and alignment with holistic eBay strategy.
  • Operational grasp: Develop programs & action plans to achieve/exceed sales targets based on qualitative & quantitative insights leveraging in-house analytics capabilities and knowledge from all the business unit functions.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills: work with the Director of Verticals FRITES and other senior executives to identify, scope, and structure key strategy initiatives.
  • Relationship building: work cross functionally and off-eBay to execute programs and action plans across product, marketing, pricing, customer service, field operations, trust & safety, legal and any other necessary function.
  • Senior-level communications: produce and present well-structured reporting to senior management.
  • Results orientation: self-manage to deliver superior results.

Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. or similar grade from top-notch schools.
  • 8+ years of total experience in the digital sector, ideally in consumer e-commerce category management or business development roles.
  • 8+ years in the Motors Parts & Accessories industry knowledge and broad network of contacts in at least either French or Italian market.
  • Industry knowledge and contacts in the other two markets would be a significant plus.
  • Industry knowledge in the vehicles market would be desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and in at least one of the three local languages.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in the other two local languages would be a significant plus.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willing to travel between the three countries approximately 30% of your working time.
