Description

eBay is looking for aniOS Engineer/Architect who is passionate about pushing the boundaries of the iOS ecosystem. The iOS Architecture Team is responsible for developing tools, patterns and best practices that support the rapid development of the eBay iOS app (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ebay-buy-sell-save-money/id282614216?mt=8), as well as newer platforms like wearables and virtual/augmented reality.

Our iOS app facilitates billions of dollars of commerce annually and is the entry point for an increasing proportion of our new customers. Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements to eBay's core internal SDK's for use by feature development teams
  • Demonstrate and document best practices for component design and testing
  • Lead by example - all code is fully covered with automated tests & clear documentation
  • Mentor other iOS engineers throughout the organization in person and via design and code reviews
  • Interact with API teams throughout eBay to drive best practices for mobile-friendly and high performance API design
  • Help identify and address developer productivity impediments with improved processes and tooling
  • Provide feedback and assistance to DevOps to address build issues as they arise

Requirements

  • Open mind and collaborative nature - must be approachable and able to create a safe environment for the exchange of ideas, facilitate consensus and drive technical solutions forward
  • 6 - 8 Years of software design and development experience working on a team
  • 4+ Years of experience developing commercial software with Objective-C/Swift

  • Experience developing and integrating with web-based API's

  • Expert iOS skills - please provide references to currently published apps

  • Versatility and depth

  • Experience with tools of the trade, Xcode, Git, Jira, etc.
