THE OPPORTUNITY:

Have a drive to make things better? Thrilled by the idea of working in the uniquely dynamic industry of sports, music and theater events? An experienced team leader with a passion for individual coaching and mentorship and creating a culture of mutual support, innovation, and analytical rigor?  We are looking for a Paid Search Innovation Lead with a thirst for continual improvement, agility, data, and action to drive our core marketing channel to the next frontiers of possibility and growth. This role will be pivotal to shaping and achieving our global growth strategy in 2018 and beyond, through leading our paid search innovation program to continuously test and implement new paid search marketing approaches.

LOCATION: The Paid Search Innovation Lead is based in San Francisco, CA

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own and drive a sizable revenue for the company with defined ROI growth targets via high-intensity experimentation to continuously elevate paid search marketing performance. As a senior leader of the Paid Search Innovation team, you will:

  • Engage and present Paid Search Innovation plan and performance to CxO and General Manager level audience
  • Set and meet aggressive aspirations for innovation rate and performance improvement in paid search and help develop Paid Search strategy in support of overall StubHub business strategy
  • Lead the Paid Search innovation team to:
  • Deeply analyze and understand current StubHub paid search performance and search marketing practices of key competitors in order to identify potential opportunities
  • Continuously generate ideas to improve StubHub’s paid search performance, including campaign strategy, keyword portfolio development, creative, landing page optimization and bidding
  • Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional StubHub stakeholders to develop and launch analytically-sound A/B and multivariate tests to pilot these ideas in an agile manner – including measuring impact, capturing customer learnings, refining successive tests, and scaling successes
  • Work with engineering to deliver new features and enhancements that bring search engine marketing innovations to market that improve StubHub’s performance or efficiency  
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and with external partners to improve our test-and-learn approach, including agile processes, testing frameworks, and measurement approaches
  • Respond to rapid changes in the event landscape and marketplace to capture potential performance opportunities for paid search
  • Lead the innovation team to identify new sources of innovation, including new data, technologies / features, and best practices based on market evolution and competitive actions
  • Be fiercely competitive and engender a sense of urgency, creativity, and curiosity for how we continue to improve our paid search performance both within our paid search and across the marketing team
  • Continuously strengthen relationships across the innovation pod (including analytics, product, data science, external partners)  to enable greater performance
  • Manage, coach and mentor talented Paid Search Innovation team members to nurture their strengths and provide opportunities for continued growth

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of relevant digital marketing and strategy experience, with active / hands-on performance marketing experience a plus
  • Seasoned manager of high-performance teams with experience building collaborative and high-achieving teams and coaching/growing team members
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with previous experience structuring and performing complex analysis in the digital marketing space
  • Proven track record of leading large teams to achieve step-change improvements while working collaboratively with team members from all levels; experience leading agile teams a plus
  • Powerful communicator with ability to engage and influence senior management
  • Deep understanding of paid search optimization concepts across levers (e.g., bidding & keyword strategy, targeting, creative and landing page)
  • Familiarity with core performance marketing platforms, automated bidding tools and other marketing analytics tools, including any of:
    • Google AdWords, Bing Ads, DoubleClick Suite, Adobe Analytics (fka Omniture) & broader Adobe Marketing Cloud, LiveRamp, SalesForce Marketing Cloud & Ad Studio
  • Working knowledge of SQL a plus
  • Passion for live events - sports/concert/entertainment enthusiast a plus
