The Global Payments, Billing & Risk (GPBR) function at eBay works to ensure great experiences when buyers and sellers come together and engage in commerce on the biggest marketplace in the world. This involves comprehensively understanding Payments & Risks on eBay. Identifying the opportunity areas and helping build scalable solutions to drive great user experience. Risk is a critical need for each area. This role is heavily cross-functional and ideal for candidates who enjoy both defining and solving complex problems, while getting deeply involved in the classification domain and solution partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the organization and escalation manager for all of the critical items surfacing in Risk on a daily basis
  • Be able to communicate across relevant teams and with the leads or varying seniority of teams around critical items and what the impacts are to the business
  • Run Daily 911 Stand Ups & ensure coverage of each issue
  • Track all Break/Fix work to find patterns for infrastructural or process improvements to mitigate repetitive problems
  • Work with Build teams to have integrated release plans for deployment timelines
  • Analyze data for evidence of deficiencies in controls or lack of compliance with laws, government regulations, and management policies and procedures and assist with correcting such deficiencies.

Key Skills:

  • Familiarity running escalation process meetings
  • Familiarity with all forms of online fraud and knowledge of the potential impacts of each
  • Able to articulate within and outside of the Risk org the criticality of issues
  • Management timelines of resolutions and all plan work leading to resolution
  • Able to calmly handle many high priority issues with various levels of details and guidance
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skill
  • Able to push back on any issue which does not receive proper support in resolution
