The eBay Network Engineering team is looking for a strong devops engineer with a passion for network automation and implementing creative solutions to ensure a consistent network deployment.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop tools for Network Engineering

  • Maintain Software standards and unit test coverage

  • Work with engineers to develop the most optimal solution associated with the initial network configuration.

  • Research and design new approaches in applying configuration to network devices.

  • Develop domain expertise and apply it to solving current and future challenges.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in developing network automation

  • Experience with Puppet, Chef, Ansible frameworks

  • Expertise with Python, Database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and software development standards

  • Experience in one or more of: C, C++, and Go is a big plus

  • Solid understanding of routing and switching, TCP/IP protocol stack

  • Experience in large scale-out infrastructures

  • Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

  • Good theoretical foundation in computer science
