Category Program Manager – Supply Chain - Commodity Management

eBay is looking for an experienced server and/or network supply chain commodity manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for direct management of a complete system, sub-system and component level commodities (CPU, Memory, HDD, SSD) for Compute products.

The selected candidate will be the focal point for all supplier interaction from a business and operations perspective for price negotiation, contract requirements and escalations up to the executive level. In order to be successful in this role the candidate will be need to work closely with internal customers under hardware development team. You will be tasked with development and implementation of category strategies for strategic commodities, in order to meet assurance of supply, lead-time, inventory and cost goals for the company.  Additional responsibilities include running supply chain for one or multiple projects, supplier sourcing and performance management, along with gathering supply market intelligence to support business decisions.

Broaden scope of server procurement to include direct management of strategic commodities (CPU, Memory, HDD, SSD)

Development of supporting procurement and supply chain processes including multi-partner purchase agreements, price-masking, assurance of supply/risk management.

In coordination with the eBay System Engineering team, develop and deliver strategic supply chain relationships with system integration, sub-system and component level suppliers.

Category Management:  Develop and maintain a preferred supply base for the server commodities; Supplier evaluation and performance management; Lead supplier price negotiations; Obtain benchmark data, market intelligence and technology trends from internal and external sources; Risk identification and mitigation.

Sourcing, Marketing, or Sales experience applicable to at least one of the following commodities: CPU, DRAM, SSD, HDD
Tolerance for Ambiguity – Able to work  in a rapidly changing environment and make decisions with limited data
Ability to work autonomously with limited direction
Strong change management and Influencing skills
Comfortable working in cross-functional organization
Ability to handle difficult situations and come to alignment
Strong project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
MS Office/Google Business Apps/Data Analysis competency

Preferred Experience/Skills:
Broad technical/business knowledge of computer commodities
Understanding of BOM, Should-Cost Modeling, Product Data/Structuring Applications
Technical undergraduate degree with MBA/Masters

Bilingual – experience with common hardware suppliers in the industry from system to component levels
