Job Description

With our business continuing to expand Cross Border Trade (CBT), we are seeking an energetic and high caliber individual to join our Japan team.

For this Content Marketing Manager position, eBay Japan is looking for an individual who will be an expert about eBay, one of the top online marketplaces in the world and Cross Border Trade (CBT) business and industry.  Also, he/she is required to understand SEO & basic digital marketing method, website structure and have must have an experience of content management.

The ideal candidate will work closely across various internal teams, as well as external vendors. This is a manager position to lead a cross-functional taskforce team and report to Marketing leader(s).

Responsibilities

  • Leaning – what we are doing: Be the master of content for eBay Japan. Need to understand how our business operating and what contents we’re providing to who and on which medias. Encourage to deep dive to the detailed of seller handling process and policies.
  • Analyze – our digital contents: Find out what we must do is the most important part of this role. It includes to conduct a mass questioner survey.
  • Planning - Build a content strategy: After learning and Analyze are done, next step is to review all required updates/changes and prioritize the items. Make the plan for exclusion for 2022.
  • Execution – Project management: Establish a teamwork with daily basis and create targeted, required contents and update sites. The Key stakeholders are Category management team, Seller Business care (GCX) and Marketing team in Japan and Korea. This role involves knowledge of digital marketing software, tools, and methods with a focus on content and SEO. 
  • BAU Support – Maintain and prioritize daily updates of websites, such as News, limit-up operation, and Campaign page creation and improve detail operation with each stakeholder. SEO data analysis and planning - Analyze website data by GA and others, report the weekly and Monthly data from our management vendor and initiate feasible action plans based on learnings proactively.
  • Overview – Reporting: Update the progress to related managers in weekly basis. Ensures that information is correctly processed, and that work complies with relevant internal and external rules, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

As a part of marketing team, all the content should follow our standard guidelines

  • Tone & Manners
  • Wording, terms 
  • Logo, Design, colors, and picture selection 

Requirements/Basic Qualifications

  • Proven success record in Content Management or Digital Marketing
  • Management of multiple projects in a fast-paced and an ambiguous environment
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating marketing communications to audiences online
  • 5+ year Web Marketing and/or Digital Marketing, or 5+ years relevant experience in web services, e- commerce, or related industry preferred.
  • Proactive team leader who can lead this long sustainable object with passion.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and strong team player who willing to support others.
  • Good listener and patient partner with sales team.
  • Effective, highly creative communication and critical-thinking skill
  • A quick leaner who has high energy and passion for internet, ecommerce, and CBT and services industry. Understanding of eBay site and/or online marketplace, e-commerce selling policies.
  • Can identify potential problems with a strategy vs. providing prescriptive advice
  • Ability to work in virtual and offline smoothly, build relationships, and work effectively as a part of a team.
  • Organized, well-versed in fostering a brand voice.
  • Professional writing skill or editorial coordination with native Japanese fluency
  • Immediate level business English, presentations, English mails and sometimes visitors

Preferred qualifications

  • Vendor control and business communication skill as corporate representative
  • Presentation skills to deliver reports, findings, and planning to the team
  • Basic knowledge of CBT business and operational flow
  • Elementary level of Korean
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Basic HTML coding skills, image design software (Photoshop, illustrator), and movie editor (Adobe premiere or others)

Education and/or Relevant Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, human-centered interaction, or related field
