About this role:

This position is in eBay’s Application Security team under the Information Security umbrella. We would like someone with deep familiarity with developing and supporting Application security solutions and products. Work with internal and partner teams to secure eBay Applications, APIs, Javascripts, etc. from security attacks. Experience of working in short sprints in an CI/CD environment is required.

You would partner with Security Engineering, Risk, Fraud intelligence, Core technology and Product teams regularly to develop solutions to detect and mitigate Security attacks.

Job Description:

  • Senior software developer with engineering experience working on Security attacks reduction through foundational product security fixes
  • Securing Customer Security accounts from various Security attack vectors like Phishing, Malware and Fraud related attacks.
  • Experience with working in the Security / Risk / Fraud space to build end-end security solutions to reduce monetary losses due to security loopholes and fraud
  • Ability to conduct deep dive investigations into Security / Fraud / Risk abuse patterns in the product code
  • Experience working with Big Data systems and Data analysis techniques is preferred
  • Knowledge of integration of Security automation solutions with systems like GitHub and Open Source Security solutions is a plus
  • This role will require a focus on fixing the foundational security and risk gaps in eBay Applications

Preferred Requirements:

  • BSCS degree or an MS degree with appropriate years of experience; We prefer 6-8 years of hands on experience.
  • Implementation experience with Security Malware and Phishing prevention solutions is highly preferred.
  • A deep understanding on existing phishing risk mitigation solutions is required.
  • Good understanding of OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities as it relates to secure product development
  • Experience on developing product solutions seeking to minimize Security attacks and fraud in monetary transactions required
  • Hands-on product development experience with web applications is required; some experience in application security space will be nice-to-have.
  • Strong development experience in Java and Node.js, and familiarity with databases (MongoDB or Hadoop) is required. Knowledge of other technologies like PHP, Python, Content management systems is a plus.
  • Working experience with product development teams in a continuous delivery developer role is highly desirable.
  • Should be able to deep dive into existing code to detect and remediate security flaws.
  • Self-starter and Effective communicator with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with a highly motivated team of top-level security specialists
