The German Verticals team is responsible for the B2C business (i.e. from business sellers to consumers) of eBay Germany (ebay.de). The team is organized by industries (‘Verticals’, such as Consumer Electronics, Home & Garden, Fashion, or Motors) and horizontal teams such as trading and planning functions.

We are currently recruiting for a

Vertical Pricing and Promotions Analyst (f/m/d)

to join the Monetization team in Dreilinden/Berlin.

The Monetization team is responsible for defining and executing the vision for how eBay monetizes its marketplace -- balancing growth, customer satisfaction, and financial objectives for eBay. This includes setting pricing for our products and services, leveraging promotions to drive desired seller behavior and communicating eBay`s strategic pricing positioning to sellers. One of eBay’s main sources of revenue is from our sellers in the form of transactional fees.

This role will help us identify, manage and improve our set of promotional levers to attract targeted supply from our consumer and professional seller base. As part of this scope you will work with a variety of stakeholders across Category & Account Management teams, our Consumer-to-Consumer team, Marketing, Analytics and Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Designing promotions aimed at driving seller behavior and incremental supply

  • Managing pricing & promotion operations

  • Enhance our understanding of promotion related customer journeys

  • Generate promotion related customer insights

  • Driving performance deep dives (e.g. customer targeting, incentives, actions, GMV, Revenue, OI)

  • Supporting pricing strategy definition

Requirements

  • Genuine enthusiasm for eBay and e-commerce

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong analytical skills (including hands-on experience with SQL and MS Excel is a must)

  • Good communication skills in English. German is a plus.

  • Category-based insights (e.g. in Car Parts, Home & Garden) are a plus

  • You love working independently and are passionate about making a material impact on business performance

  • Fun with work: experience in liking people, proof of a sense of humor – much appreciated!
