We are looking for a self-starter and customer centric Analytics Manager to join our diverse team based in London using data to make eBay become the partner of choice for our sellers and help cultivate lifelong positive relationship with our buyers.

Partnering with UK Growth & Finance teams and other analysts to convert raw data into impactful insights, this role will craft our strategy and cutting edge marketing campaigns. Analysing a broad spectrum of marketing campaigns plus driving customer satisfaction & dedication, this is a key role in the marketing team through data driven decision support.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our core products and respond to marketing initiatives.

  • Work with business partners to scope analysis to answer key business questions – challenge their thinking and become a trusted business partner. Provide data driven decision support to optimise Marketing activities.

  • Collaborate with the UK Growth team and design experiments at scale; build predictive models using transactional & behavioural data to be used in experimental design to offer more personalised and more relevant touchpoints with our customers.

  • Partner with the Incentives team and help build the paid incentive strategies for Coupons, Nectar and eBay partner network.

  • Measure and interpret the impact of Marketing initiatives & experiments and share the findings to a non-technical audience.

  • Perform post campaign analytics deep dives on user behaviour and provide actionable recommendations based on findings

  • Set up, configure and maintain campaign tracker to enable Marketing team to self-serve and compare key performance metrics on various marketing campaigns.

  • Work closely with Finance and provide cost estimation and forecasting as and when needed.

  • Identify, extract and analyse relevant information from multiple data sources

  • Be the Customer: Buy, Sell and Engage with eBay’s mission of connected commerce

About you

We would love to hear from you if you have an established analytical career as a Data Scientist/BI/Insight Analyst, preferably from Management or Strategy Consultancy within e-commerce, Retail, Media or Digital Marketing.

Excellent communication skills are key with a proven track record in clearly defining a problem, collating the required information, analysing the results and communicating findings to Senior Management. An excellent teammate, you will have outstanding collaboration skills with an ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels. Experience in agile project management is desired too.

Advanced SQL skills in a Big Data environment, ideally in Hadoop or similar, for data extraction and data wrangling is a must plus proficiency in R or Python for analysing data & building predictive models. Experience in data virtualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, R Shiny or similar is also important plus familiarity in controlled experiments, A/B testing and experiment set up is desired.
