The Role and Opportunity

The Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Site Navigation and Browse Product Management teams define and build features that optimize the way search engines crawl, index and rank eBay pages. We help our customers easily find and reach relevant eBay pages when searching on search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. With literally hundreds of millions of products listed on eBay globally at any time, the scale at which eBay has to consider search engine optimization puts our team in a unique position to innovate and provide immediate value to the business. The SEO, Site Navigation and Browse Product Management teams work closely with Product Development, Data Science, Quality Engineering, Design, and other cross-domain organizations to build scalable and highly-available business solutions that are used by millions of eBay users across the globe every day. We are responsible for driving organic traffic that represents billions of dollars worth of goods and services bought on eBay.

Primary Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive the evolution and roadmap for our linking platform. These are the services, APIs and graph databases that power the category navigation paths for buyers on eBay. An optimal and intuitive navigation is essential for shoppers and search engines to find and discover eBay’s inventory. The successful candidate in this role will have experience building scalable platform solutions, and executing across multiple teams. This role requires someone who has an appetite for building out new business ideas from the ground up - this means that they are able to bring structure and simplicity to complicated problems. The ability to bring about positive work culture changes is desired. This role will work directly with many partners both within and outside of the SEO, Site Navigation and Browse teams, so the ability to drive consensus and problem solve is crucial.

Our agile teams are based in the SF Bay Area. This position will be based out of San Francisco.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical experience required
  • 5+ years experience in Product Management
  • Track record of execution and delivery
  • Excellent communication & people skills
  • Data driven and results oriented
  • Empathy for the customer experience
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies
  • Comfortable working in large, matrixed organizations
