Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop original research programs to answer critical questions about eBay’s brand and the drivers of customer perception and behavior
  • Analyze research data to create compelling, insightful storylines that illuminate opportunities and threats to driving brand and business growth
  • Author executive level reports and make informed recommendations to key partners and influencers that lead to action
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative studies that provide guidance on how to prioritize and win with customers in key market segments
  • Bring to bear eBay’s transactional data systems to connect external views of buyers and sellers with internal views to identify causal relationships between what customers say and do
  • Serve as trusted adviser to a diverse audience of senior leaders across the company
  • Design sampling strategies to ensure the right mix of participants for various research studies conducted across the team

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience within market research & insights applying both quantitative and qualitative techniques
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: segmentation research, customer experience measurement, questionnaire design and sampling strategy formulation
  • Demonstrated track record of managing large scale, global research programs and collaborating effectively across a matrixed organization
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, and a passion for innovating and learning new research tools & methodologies
  • Proven ability to distill practical insights from complex data and explain findings to clients in a digestible and compelling manner
  • Entrepreneurial and pro-active attitude
  • Ability to translate business questions into appropriate research initiatives
  • Strong verbal communication skills and experience with senior level client presentations and meetings
  • Bachelor’s Degree in market research, statistics, economics or related field. Advanced Degree highly desirable
