About the team:

People are at the center of everything we do. The People Analytics team provides data-informed solutions to attract, retain, develop and inspire eBay’s most important asset – our People. Our scope and skills include data science, data engineering, operational reporting, consulting, and crafting & building dashboards. We share a common passion for data and empowering business leaders with insights. 

Role Description:

As the Sr. People Analytics Partner, you empower eBay with products & insights that drive People & Business impact. You own the delivery of reporting and analytical solutions to eBay leaders, managers and the People Team. Your dashboards and tools are the “source of truth” for people data. You work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to effectively distill requirements, co-create impactful reports & insights, provide ongoing support, and enable data-informed actions. 

You integrate a deep understanding of business needs, people dynamics and data to deliver curated insights. You’re a strong evangelist for data-informed decisions and for empowering everyone with insights. You know you need data to tell the story, but that data doesn’t tell a story on its own. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop trusted partnerships with stakeholders to understand their business goals and define their key data needs 
  • Actively drive development and ongoing improvement of self-service reporting and analytics tools and capabilities 
  • Create reports, dashboards and visualizations to provide people insights at scale. 
  • Provide customers with change management, training & support to use our data products to get insights and take action 
  • Translate complex findings and data into a compelling and easy-to-understand narrative for audiences of all technical levels 
  • Leverage tools such as Visier, Workday, Glint, Excel, Tableau and SQL to drive analytics and enable self-service on routine questions 
  • Be an active listener, teacher and influencer to help foster a data-driven culture in eBay’s People team 
  • Proactively manage customer expectations, handle partner concerns and resolve issues efficiently and effectively 
  • Track insights tool usage to find opportunities for improvement 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS with 8+ years of consulting or corporate work experience focused on using data to uncover insights that drive action. People Analytics experience required, preferably in a high-growth and/or tech environment. Additional background in management consulting, finance, compensation, or related areas preferred 
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis (e.g., descriptive statistics and statistical significance), quantitative research, and experience gathering and interpreting data 
  • Excellent communication, change management and training skills. Ability to communicate product features and analytical insights to non-technical customers 
  • Strong understanding of design and visualization. Able to tell stories with data and link insights to business action 
  • Experience in analytics using HR systems and platforms such as Workday, Visier, Salesforce etc. 
  • Experience in Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization tools and Excel (advanced formulas, pivots, macros, etc.) 
  • Demonstrate exceptional judgment and discretion when working with highly sensitive people data 
  • Highly flexible attitude; ability to proactively define problems and lead projects in a fast-­paced, rapidly evolving organization
