Looking for a company that inspires passion, courage and imagination, where you can be part of the team shaping the future of global commerce? Want to shape how millions of people buy, sell, connect, and share around the world? If you’re interested in joining a purpose driven community that is dedicated to creating an ambitious and inclusive workplace, join eBay – a company you can be proud to be a part of.

We’re looking for an experienced leader of software testers who is excited by the challenge of testing software at scale. You’re at home in an Agile environment and your inquisitive nature and desire to dig into the unknown are two of your strengths. You have led testers, defined testing policy for agile teams and have a passion for helping teams deliver value while keeping code quality high..

eBay is the largest global marketplace brand with 157 million active users and close to $300 billion in transactions processed by its platform annually. The European Product Development (EPD) team is part of eBay’s Seller Experiences team, a global product organisation focused on building solutions for eBay's seller community across the world. EPD is a fully agile, cross functional team based in London and Berlin. The team is tasked with bringing a world-class online and mobile experience to 25 million sellers world-wide, from fully functional small businesses to individual, casual users.

Agility, quality and empowered teams are all important values for EPD, and we expect our leaders to exemplify and advocate for the right culture within the group. We achieve delivery focus through cross-functional  teams, fast feedback loops, short cycles and a holistic approach to software craftsmanship including testing practices. We promote a culture of transparency and feedback, which helps create successful, empowered, self-organised teams.

You will be responsible for our London and Berlin testing teams, setting overall testing strategy and helping them maintain our high bar for engineering quality and delivery focus. You will work across multiple product teams, supporting team members in delivering high-value products and creating a fun, productive work environment.

In addition, you will support career growth and oversee hiring for the software testing team to ensure we attract and retain the best talent and that we’re actively developing our people. A key component to this will be your ability to coach and mentor the team for successful outcomes.

As part of the EPD leadership team, you will provide input into the long-term vision of where EPD fits within the global organisation. It will be critical to build the right relationships globally to deliver on that vision. You will meet regularly with senior global partners within the engineering and product organisations and represent the global product organisation with teams here in Europe.

What we offer:

  • Dynamic, international teams with very skilled people, a passion for e-commerce and professionalism without leaving our sense of humour behind.
  • Opportunity to interact with other teams across eBay, and influence the future of technology at the company. We work closely with teams in Europe and USA.
  • A competitive salary, great benefits and an excellent working environment.
  • Silicon Valley amenities, such as iPhones and MacBook Pros, crazy high spec dev machines and very nice office facilities.
  • An opportunity to build applications which are used by millions of people globally.
