About the role
The mission of the TreeBay Team is to bring eBay and classifieds inventory together to give our customers’ unparalleled abundance and choice in one experience.
The Full Stack Developer will take ownership of developing the TreeBay backend, frontend and deployment. The system is used globally by tens of millions of monthly visitors, from Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy and Australia. Communicating with the developers in local markets is paramount for aligning with their goals to provide a service that not only serves eBay, but also local markets.
You will have an eagerness to learn, flexible and innovative mindset, balanced by solid experience in building reliable services. You will be integrating with eBay APIs and other Advertisement technologies on a regular basis. You will be responsible for growing and developing the system, discovering the overall vision, planning improvements and delivering functionality. You are a self-starter who sets the direction for future development, can provide a plan on how to implement it, develop it and facilitate integrations with local markets.
You strive for simplicity and maintainability on all levels - not just in code. You see large refactors of an existing codebase as a challenge for making things simpler. You can manage the risk of your changes and can balance it against other constraints. You can see the need for changing priorities when the situation requires it and act on it.
- Implement and maintain highly available services.
- Develop solutions that meet the service requirements and deliver good performance and reliability.
- Plan implementations, and rollout system changes within a lean environment.
- Meet realistic implementation schedules and adhere to development goals and principles.
- Handle release management duties.
- Develop industry and product technical expertise.
Desired traits and experience:
3+ years experience in requirements analysis, design, coding and unit testing of fault-tolerant applications for the internet.
Must have hands on experience in either Go, Elm or some other functional programming language.
Docker, Jenkins, JIRA and Git.
Ad publishing platforms(DFP preferred)
Targeting platforms such as DMP or DSP
Analytics platforms like Google Analytics
Domain Specific Languages (DSLs)
A proven track record of delivering highly performant, responsive websites with clean, reliable and testable code at the heart of your technical decisions.
