About the team:

We are looking for a strong leader to manage the Shanghai Emerging Threats Incident Management team. The Emerging Threats team is a global team of Analysts, Incident Managers and Project Managers with teams located in Shanghai, Salt Lake City and Dublin and is responsible for the monitoring, alerting, identifying emerging fraud trends and the incident response process for all core risk metrics and workflows and act as the single point of contact for risk critical issues. During unexpected risk events the Emerging Threats team is responsible for quickly assessing business, customer and system impact and determining mitigation options.

This role is both people-intensive and data-intensive. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong leadership and inter-personal skills as well as strong technical and analytic experience. They should be a quick learner and offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, deep analytical capabilities, and a collaborative working style and ability to lead, develop and mentor employees in their role.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will:

  • Lead team in monitoring, identification, root cause analysis, mitigation and triaging of risk incidents daily with the mission to restore normal operation.

  • Work with Analysts and Incident Managers to coordinate investigation of risk incidents and process complicated and diverse sets of information in order to provide summary-level insights and recommendations.

  • Lead team in conducting proactive qualitative investigations to identify and scope emerging fraud trends. Establish documentation and supervising systems to make sure uncategorized risk events are under watch.

  • Work with global Emerging Threats team and Risk business owners to build playbooks defining incident response process including templates, tools, process maps, and graphical representations to maintain global alignment.

  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with a wide range of regional and global partners throughout the company.

  • Manage rotational schedule to ensure 24x7 coverage is maintained between all team locations and time zones.

  • Support the professional growth of your team through mentoring, coaching, and technical leadership.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent leadership skills. Possesses a talent attitude with a proven track record to attract and retain a robust team that can achieve strong results.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to own and manage multiple incidents simultaneously, lead a coordinated effort among members of a team to react to an incident and resolve to business satisfaction.

  • Ability to balance multiple projects at the same time and handle various tasks and exciting demands in a fact paced technology environment.

  • Confidence and willingness to take ownership over projects and exhibit Intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity.

  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and to effectively collaborate within cross-functional teams.

  • Understanding of risk/fraud management in multiple areas strongly preferred: Fraud Risk (account takeover, stolen financials), Credit Risk (Bank Payments), Buyer Risk, Seller Risk, abuse, collusion risk, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of managerial experience with proven experience leading team of analysts.

  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, solid understanding of database concepts and practical experience with analytic tools (Tableau, Elasticsearch, Grafana or Python, etc.).

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills with Ability to break down sophisticated problems and business questions and effectively communicate measurable insights to diverse audiences.

  • Experience with large datasets, recognizing and interpreting data trends, and using data to develop visualizations and influence business decisions.

  • 3+ years of experience in risk/fraud management, incident management, project management or related field preferred.

  • Experience working as part of a distributed team and collaborating with groups remotely across multiple cultures

  • Fluency in English
