Ebay is seeking a Lead Architect to support our Customer Service Technology (CSTech) Organization. This position has responsibility for ensuring that Customer Service applications implement holistic, robust, technically sound and standardized solutions; and are secure, available and have structural quality by running on compliant hardware and software. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing and managing disaster recovery and business continuity plans across all applications, platforms and environments supporting the Customer Service business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive Enterprise architecture, Hybrid Cloud, Disaster recovery and Failover strategies with multi-functional CSTech application development teams

  • Maintain the inventory of applications and the server infrastructure used within Customer Service organization

  • Work with Infrastructure operations teams to determine the gaps in terms of hardware and software compliance and plan to address those gaps

  • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure that the operating system and application software for these applications is updated & patched per the compliance policies

  • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure that the hardware on which the applications run is refreshed and maintained per the compliance policies

  • Drive the business continuity and disaster recovery planning by the CSTech teams and Customer Service business partners

  • Drive the technology peak season readiness planning, also ensuring service partners, internal application teams and business partners have resources available

  • Coordinate disaster recovery and live failover exercises on an annual basis

  • Maintain Application Tier & Resiliency requirements, architecture, risks, gaps

Skill Requirements:

  • Strong technology background with 05+ years of experience in enterprise architecture and 10+ years in software development

  • Good understanding of web-based applications

  • Experience with cloud based SAAS applications

  • Experience with migrating on-prem applications to cloud

  • Expert level knowledge in a programming language, preferably Java or C#

  • Knowledge of integrated, global call center technologies including IVR, CRM, WFM, recording platforms, CTI integration and skills-based routing in a VoIP environment

  • Experience with Kubernetes based cloud infrastructure

  • Exposure to large scale infrastructure planning and operations with Windows and Linux servers

  • Understanding of complex technology resiliency planning and management, with experience focused on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

  • Superior analytical, interpersonal, communication (written, verbal, and technical), presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills

  • Flexibility and adaptability to fit the needs of the project, making progress despite ambiguity

  • Ability to work across group boundaries and forge multi-functional relationships

  • Great teammate with collaborative style and proven track record of building successful relationships

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and succinctly, complex design and technical issues, as well as business and product specifications
