The Data Governance Analyst is a member of the Data Governance team which forms part Information Security department, you will be reporting to the Head of Data Governance and support the delivery of eBay Classifieds Group’s overarching Data Management strategy.  

As a team player, you will actively engage in tasks related to the Data Governance application Collibra, metadata management and standardizing metadata management processes.  

You will become the data specialist; help build awareness across the enterprise and support both central teams and platform teams in various countries around the world with data governance deliverables.  

  • Be the central expert for the data governance tool Collibra. This includes but is not limited to Communities, Data Domains, Data Dictionaries, Glossaries, Business Terms, Lineage, Logical Data Model, Roles, BPMN workflows.  

  • Support the connection of systems and processes metadata to Collibra and confirming the output is aligned to Data Governance and Change Management needs. 

  • Support the Data Management strategy and implementation, working cross-functionally with business and central departments to ensure alignment and progress towards overarching objectives.  

  • Identify and implement the optimum means to collect, process, analyze and report on metadata and ensure ongoing accuracy, integrity and security.  

  • Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of a business glossary and technical and business metadata solutions.  

  • Provide support on metadata process and implementation. Develop follow up training material and provide coaching.  

  • Develop stakeholder communications and training in support of metadata process implementation.  

  • Conduct requirement assessments, identify gaps and provide suggestions to improve and streamline metadata processes based on operational insights.  

What do you need to do the job?

  • A bachelor or master degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required.  

  • Basic understanding of working with Data, appreciation of Data Governance.   

  • Ability to work in an international, dynamic and mostly informal setting.  

  • Knowledge in working with Excel – importing and exporting data.  

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required (English).  

  • Ability to influence and build consensus across organizational boundaries.  

  • Understand and be capable of effectively communicating the role of Data Governance to both business and technical audiences.  

  • Experience in project-based working, including tasks, dependencies, priorities and deadlines.  

  • Quick and agile learner, ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances

  • Knowledge of Collibra or similar metadata management tooling, data concepts and best practices would be considered an advantage  

  • Knowledge of data concepts would be considered an advantage.
