Description of Position:
As a member of the Global Procurement and Strategic Sourcing Organization (SS) you will be responsible for ensuring eBay’s subsidiary “eBay Classifieds Group” (eCG) effectively and efficiently sources and procures products and services that deliver the best value to the corporation while building and sustaining mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.

The following is a list of project categories we support: Marketing, Telecommunications, Technology (Hardware, Software and Services), Consulting Services, Financial Services, Human Resources, Product Development, Customer Service, Outsourcing and Facilities Management.  However the main spend area in eCG is Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sourcing based strategies for responsible areas
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of sourcing initiatives end to end
  • Create and develop strong working relationships with key internal and external partners
  • Consistently create, present and implement process improvements within the organization
  • Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends including analysis of market drivers, cost structures and technical improvements
  • Support supplier initiatives including annual cost reductions, supplier consolidation, favorable business terms, etc.

Desired Experience/Education/Training:

  • A degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management. MBA or International equivalent preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing environment.
  • 8+ years’ experience in global high tech company preferred
  • Experience working in a remote office independently preferred
  • Strong Leadership skills and ability to assume leadership roles
  • Supply chain experience managing cross functional teams in a fast pace company.
  • Familiarity with world-class sourcing methods and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Fluent in English
  • Exceptional ability to solve problems
  • Ability to be innovative in issues related to strategic sourcing, supplier relations
  • Strong analytical skills (i.e. cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection)
  • Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office Productivity applications required.

Some travel required, including International travel. 15%
