The Job:

The Customer Service Technologies (CSTech) group supports a technology suite that is essential to our delivering a flawless customer support experience. The Teammate Tools team supports all the applications that are used by our Contact Center agents to access all relevant information and solve customer problems in real time. A smooth and highly efficient user experience, underpinned by capabilities like automation and AI, is key to enabling agents solving problems rapidly.

We are embarking on a critical transformation to shift from a legacy tech stack to a microservices supported, web-based solution that delivers a true ‘single pane of glass’ experience for our agents. We’re assembling a team of new and current members who will singularly focus on the multi-year journey of incrementally creating this new capability. We’re looking to hire a hands-on engineering manager who will help manage, contribute hands-on alongside team members and through their passion and drive, help form a high performing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely within the engineering team and with other key roles like Product Managers to help create delivery plans for projects.
  • Build and lead team, mentoring, guiding and growing members through appropriate guidance and motivation, to maximize high quality, on-time delivery.
  • Partner with other leaders to establish robust software engineering and delivery practices.
  • Be deeply engaged in the entire software lifecycle, from architecture through QA, deployment and ensuring uptime.
  • Contribute hands-on to implementation as needed.
  • Continuously stay informed on relevant technology direction

Your Profile:

  • 3-5 years’ experience managing team of software engineers.
  • Experienced in and comfortable with interacting across layers of engineering leadership.
  • Experienced in building relationships, navigating organizations, driving decisions and maintaining delivery.
  • Strong oral and written communication and other soft skills critical to collaborating with and engaging teams
  • Deep understanding of design, implementation and operation of enterprise micro services and APIs, in highly secure, enterprise environments.
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment, strong understanding of CI tooling (TeamCity, Jenkins), various forms of automated testing – unit, integration and more
  • Current coding experience in any relevant layer of web stack – frontend, middleware or backend – preferably in one/more technologies such as Javascript, React, Node, Angular, jQuery, Java, Scala, Node, MongoDB, Oracle.

  • Bachelor’s Degree; preferably Computer Science major or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading team of software engineers
  • Experience in handling multiple simultaneous, shifting priorities
  • Experience in working with globally distributed teams across numerous time zones
