eBay’s Tax Function

eBay’s global footprint, evolving business model, the dynamic and complex nature of e-commerce, provide the tax team with substantial opportunities to impact and support the business. eBay’s tax organization has built and sustained strong relationships with the businesses and chips in significantly and measurably to the bottom line.

The global tax operations and strategy team is accountable for the global tax provision and related financial reporting, all aspects of income tax compliance (federal, state, foreign), transfer pricing, tax forecasting, and tax technology. Significant technology investments continue to be made to optimize the function.

Opportunity – Senior Analyst, International Tax Reporting

The International Tax Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting the International Tax Operations team with the international tax components of the provision and US tax compliance. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, US international income tax accounting, US international tax compliance obligations, and assisting in compliance process improvements, automation of recurring calculations, and modeling of tax reform and tax planning impacts. The International Tax Senior Analyst reports directly to the International Tax Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist in the review of US international tax reporting and compliance calculations including GILTI, subpart F, foreign tax credits, FDII, earnings and profits, basis, and BEAT along with the related tax filings, supporting workpapers, disclosures, and statements
  • Ensure that all filing deadlines are met in compliance with the Company’s tax calendar
  • Prepare and assist in review of quarterly and annual US domestic ASC 740 tax provision calculations and foreign tax provisions including computations of effective tax rates, deferred taxes, and reconciliation of tax accounts
  • Assisting with adjustments and maintaining OneSource Tax Provision for the foreign entities on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Collaborate with the Tax Planning team to research international tax technical matters, assist in tax planning projects, and prepare memos to document conclusions
  • Support international tax controversy teams on IRS audits, tax notices and inquiries
  • Identify and support tax technology and process improvement initiatives

Knowledge & Experience

  • BA/BS in accounting
  • 3+ years equivalent industry or Big Four tax experience in US international tax
  • Understanding of key US international technical provisions, including FTC, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F, treaty related issues
  • Basic understanding of ASC 740
  • Outstanding interpersonal/communication skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong organization skills, including ability to work practically and effectively
  • Willingness to embrace technology
  • Knowledge of ONESOURCE and SAP
  • Experience with Alteryx is a plus
