eBay’s Performance Marketing group operates at the forefront of e-commerce by combining marketing science and innovation to grow eBay’s business. The eBay Partner Network (EPN) is one of the leading Performance Marketing channels and one of the largest affiliate programs in the world. This entrepreneurial, forward-thinking, award-winning team works with thousands of partners globally to drive traffic and new buyers to eBay, making it one of eBay’s most impactful marketing channels. EPN is based in eBay’s offices in Bellevue, Washington, has team members in Berlin, London, Milan, Prague, and Sydney, and works with partners around the world.

The EPN Business Development team’s job is to grow EPN’s large partner base by identifying and onboarding new large, strategic partnerships. EPN is seeking an experienced Head of Partner Business Development to lead the BD effort needed to grow our channel. EPN is growing its pipeline and has an ambitious goal to launch and grow new strategic partnerships in 2022. This position reports to the Director of EPN.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for owning the end-to-end BD cycle (prospect/engage/onboard) for the eBay Partner Network

  • Design and execute a strategy to hit EPN growth targets by recruiting and launching new large publishers on the EPN platform

  • Develop a robust, global BD pipeline and provide regular updates and communications on BD progress to a wider audience

  • Lead a small team of Business Development professionals to attain goals.

  • Serve as the face of EPN Business Development to both outside prospects as well as internal eBay stakeholders

  • Where necessary, engage actively in driving negotiations of new contracts and business terms with large new partners

  • Serve as subject matter expert on affiliate industry trends and the source of best available growth opportunities. Research emerging trends and recommend new partner opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA in business administration, marketing, or related field; Master's degree preferred

  • 5+ years Business Development or relevant work experience (including account management, contract negotiations, marketing)

  • Experience managing a team

  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills. Detail-oriented and persuasive.

  • Proven record of success in a goal-oriented, highly-accountable, fast-paced environment

  • Proven track record in executing large contracts and deals quickly.

  • Comfortable leading client-facing presentations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a natural communicator and influencer

  • Self-motivated and self-directed creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Performance Marketing (particularly Affiliate Marketing) industry
