UX Design Lead, Customer Marketing

Overview

We are hiring a UX Design Lead to lead our User Experience team in Customer Marketing. In this role you will be responsible for strengthening a multi-disciplinary design function within Global Marketing. This includes design strategy, user research and user experience design.

You will manage a team of UX Designers to improve our product and marketing experiences. As a member of the Customer Marketing Creative & UX Design leadership team you will architect and advocate a UX vision. You will mentor and encourage your team to drive towards innovative solutions based on a ‘hands on’ customer discovery approach. This role involves a high level of collaboration with leaders in product, engineering, analytics, marketing, sales and customer service to build outstanding experiences across all of our products.

Key responsibilities

  • Define a compelling UX strategy, help craft our product vision for Global Marketing
  • Lead the UX design team and ensure functional excellence, partnership and alignment
  • Strengthen all phases of the design process, including research, conceptual design, prototypes, visual design and usability testing
  • Build a strong design culture and help create products that enrich people’s lives
  • Lead improvements in the user experience, architecture and interaction
  • Articulate a design rationale that balances customer needs and business goals
  • Advocate user experience standard methodologies
  • Serve as a coach and mentor

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Preferred skills and experience

  • 8+ years of consumer UX design experience
  • Demonstrated ability leading a multi-disciplinary UX team in an agile environment
  • Excellent visual and interaction design skills, with a portfolio of work that contains examples of UX Design and Visual Systems Development for digital applications that work in cross browser environments
  • Experience managing UX research and building customer insights
  • Leadership skills and a consistent track record of growing and fostering the culture of UX teams, including coaching and mentoring
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and an analytical mind with a focus on customer centered design
  • Strong partner leadership skills to influence across multiple teams at all levels
  • Demonstrate persuasive written, visual and interpersonal communication skills, with an ability to speak the language of business, product and technology
  • Open and transparent communication style
  • Capable of operating in a fast-paced, ambitious environment, and balancing multiple priorities
  • Strong social skills – build positive working relationships with team members, and have a good sense of humor
