The newly founded eCG Motors vertical operates from our offices in Amsterdam, Berlin-Friedrichshain, and Dreilinden near Potsdam. As part of the team in Berlin Friedrichshain, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and impact across all our markets by providing innovative capabilities for all of our apps and sites.

This is a great opportunity to shape a new, innovative product, we are seeking a professional individual to join our team as a Android Engineer (d/f/m).

Your role:

  • Contribute, build, iterate and manage our global mobile Android application.

  • Help create the team around you and its processes early on

  • Ensure that code is follows the latest design standards and good practices

  • Mentor other Android developers in architecture, process and the different aspects of a large scale Android app

  • Help to raise the overall skill and quality level through pairing and design/code reviews

  • Push forward our testing strategy including unit and UI tests

  • Partner closely with front-end, back-end, iOS and product team members to continuously improve the global Android app

  • Keep legacy in check while being pragmatic about solutions

  • Research and prototype new solutions to difficult problems

Your profile:

  • 2+ years of experience in Android development

  • Passion for Android development, beautiful, pragmatic code and an eye for simplicity

  • Proven experience with the Android platform

  • Proficient in how to use DDMS and the Android Developer Tools

  • Expert programming skills in Kotlin

  • Good knowledge in testing frameworks, e.g. experience in JUnit, Robolectric, Espresso

  • Specialist in the know-how object-oriented software design and design patterns

  • Proficient experience with client/server architectures using HTTP, REST, XML and JSON

  • Experience with dependency injection frameworks (e.g. Dagger 2, Hilt)

  • Proven knowledge in Reactive Programming (RxJava, RxKotlin) or Kotlin Coroutines

  • Back-end, web front-end or iOS experience is a plus

  • Passion for agile software development, product discovery, and continuous deployment.

  • High aspiration for quality balanced with a good sense of pragmatism.

  • Strong understanding of quality assurance as a task of the entire team to build the best experience for the users.

  • Independently and quick adoption of new technologies and concepts.

  • Effective oral and written English communication skills.
