We are currently recruiting for our Marketing team in Berlin/ Dreilinden a

(Senior) Marketing Manager, Customer Activation (m/f/d)

-for a 9 month fixed term contact (maternity cover)

As a (Senior) Marketing Manager, Customer Activation (Maternity Cover), you are responsible for driving customer engagement for our new and reactivated customers in Germany to increase customer lifetime value and drive user stickiness. You will report to the Head of Customer Engagement & Retention. In this role, you are responsible for creating a phenomenal onboarding experience for our new customers. You develop communication concepts about why customers should shop on eBay, build trust in our platform, educate and drive usage of key eBay features, and help them discover relevant inventory.

You will craft consumer insights-driven briefings and steer agencies to deliver strong creative concepts for campaigns that you will closely monitor, analyze, and present to relevant partners regularly. In your role, you will build strong relationships with local and global teams such as Global Customer Marketing and Buyer Experience to influence roadmaps to improve Nursery customer journeys end to end. You will also develop a joint quarterly plan based on customer insights and find opportunities to scale further and enhance existing programs. In a fast-paced e-commerce ecosystem, you will need to change strategies & plans in an agile way whenever company goals and market requirements evolve, keeping a close eye on our customer needs and competitor landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and implementing cross-channel Marketing Campaigns to improve relevant Nursery critical metrics at eBay.de

  • Co-owning of the Nursery audience and refinement of marketing strategies for activation (next to global teams)

  • Development of a Test Roadmap influencing the incremental impact of relevant critical metrics, designing clear test designs with detailed requirements, and ensuring relevant partners understand and deliver campaigns with operational excellence

  • Gaining deep audience understanding, esp. Nursery audiences and understanding segment’s buyer journey, including the identification of possible gaps and address these accordingly

  • Budget planning, tracking & reconciling as well as advising management on optimal spend allocation for Nursery programs according to strategic priorities defined

  • Ensure transparent status reporting is happening at all levels, whether at the workstream level or with day to day team members and beyond

  • Develop presentations and supporting documentation for various cadences and teams

  • Partnering and building strong relationships with internal teams such as Trading, Business Units, and Analytics as well as global Teams such as Buyer experience and Product Teams to influence diverse roadmaps to optimize nursery customer journeys

  • Crafting consumer-insight-driven campaign briefs and steering agencies to deliver customer-focused creative concepts

  • Ongoing optimization of campaign/marketing measures locally and sharing valuable findings with broader also global audiences regularly

  • Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of campaigns, analyzing and presenting results regularly

  • Exploring opportunities and find innovative approaches within at times limited resources available and other limitations

Profile

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Marketing, or related fields

  • Minimum 6+ years with hands-on project and marketing management experience, ideally also in large, cross-functional organizations

  • Excellent understanding of CRM and various Marketing Channels

  • Experience in e-commerce, commerce, or transactional business environments

  • Strong analytical and project management skills

  • Experienced at working on detailed and complex Marketing Projects and Campaigns from early concept through execution and ensuring clarity with partners

  • Experience in leading larger projects and comfortable managing diverse partners within a global environment

  • Naturally innovates and working with the unknown, solution-focused approach with a ‘can-do attitude.’

  • Makes sound decisions in ambiguous or difficult situations, including when under pressure

  • Great teammate with a passion for working collaboratively

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced business environment

  • Passion for Retail as well as for the eBay brand

  • Excellent written and spoken German and English language skills
