You have a background in looking after herds of Linux systems and related technologies.

We are looking for colleagues with a background in Site Reliability Engineering and/or DevOps who want to work in our challenging, messy, but friendly environment.

We operate one of the biggest German website, with massive market reach. The eBay group has engineers and offices all over the world yet retains a personal touch.

Our technology stack is a big mix of technologies. The future plan is to migrate everything to a private multi-region OpenStack Cloud as base infrastructure and run K8s on top of that.

As part of the SiteOps group the successful candidate will be part of that journey.

We are looking for people with strong technical knowledge who love new challenges. In return you will be empowered to take technical decisions and finding innovative solutions to help shape the future architecture of our platforms.

The SiteOps groups are responsible for a variety of tasks, like configuration and infrastructure management, provisioning, troubleshooting, issue analysis. Y

ou will focus on finding stable and innovative solutions for new and existing products in close cooperation with the product development groups.

We believe in  continuous improvement, automation, and creating opportunities through innovation. We are eager to try out new technologies and we enable our teams to explore them through slack time, hackathons and innovation initiatives.

Your skill profile:

  • B.Sc. in computer science or related fields or relevant professional experience

  • Mastery with Linux environment

  • Mastery with (at least) one configuration management tool like Saltstack, Ansible or Puppet

  • Proficiency with cloud computing

  • Proficiency with monitoring and alerting solutions in cloud environment

  • Proficiency with programming/scripting languages like Go or Python, (mastery of one language is a big plus)

  • Proficiency with Git / GitHub

  • Familiarity with Cisco network devices, software-based load balancers is a plus

  • Familiarity with Platform-as-a-Service solutions (marathon/mesos, nomad) is a big plus

  • Familiarity with Container Orchestration solutions (e.g. Kubernetes) is a big plus

  • Willingness to take paid on call shifts after onboarding time frame
