Shipping is a critical and integral part of every eCommerce transaction. The Cross Border Trade team aim is to build tools and products to enable Sellers to achieve an extraordinary delivery experience to the eBay community with a focus on speed, transparency, reliability and cost.

We are looking for an Head of EU Export Operations, based in Dreilinden to join the Cross Border Trade team, to identify and handle shipping complete and execute against key activities and joint shipping initiatives, which include the development and launch of our new export platform

Primary Job Responsibilities

You will collaborate with business units, product and technology teams, carriers & logistics providers in the market to highlight areas of opportunity for growth whilst maintaining and growing trust on the site. This is a strategic, yet hands-on position where you will be involved in business analysis, functional design and customer experience discussions, competitive analysis, market segmentation, working with partners, and more.

Given the relatively early stage of the development of this team these roles will play a significant part in informing and impacting the strategy for Export in Europe.

Specifically you will

  • Support negotiations with carriers and handle close relations with lead partners
  • Develop International programs to support sellers with cross border trade
  • Identify and develop new partnership opportunities based on strategic objectives.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure goals are coordinated and partner expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Market research to support the go to market process for new partner opportunities.
  • Lead quarterly partner business reviews.
  • Handle partner performance and track associated results.
  • Identify future growth strategies to lower shipping costs, drive on-eBay shipping platform adoption, and improve customer experience

Job Requirements

  • Ecommerce experience or supply chain logistics looking to grow skills in both aspects
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English & German.
  • Experience within Shipping / Distribution, potentially from an ecommerce, retail or 3rd Party Distribution company would be beneficial
  • Management consulting experience within a Strategy Consultancy or international consulting firm would be advantageous
  • Experience in business development, product management, operational or related roles, preferably in online products/services
  • Previously managed product/marketing/business managers
  • Successful track record of effectively defining, launching, and managing day to day operations of internet or mobile products and/or services
  • Entrepreneurial individual by nature
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Outstanding communication and time-management skills and a proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Results oriented, upbeat and focused with a strong desire to test, learn and succeed
  • Professional integrity
