We are currently recruiting for a Senior Pricing and Promotions Manager (f/m/d), to join the Monetization team in Berlin.

The core of eBay’s business is the unique selection of products it offers to buyers, through the world’s largest selection of sellers. Our sellers come in many shapes and sizes: individuals selling used products for cash, entrepreneurs turning an idea into a flexible income stream for themselves and multi-million pound/euro/dollar businesses using eBay as a fixed price retail channel.

In return for bringing buyers to our sellers, one of eBay’s main sources of revenue is from our sellers in the form of listing and transactional fees. The Monetization team is responsible for defining the vision for how eBay monetizes its marketplace -- balancing growth, customer satisfaction, and financial objectives for eBay within an ever more challenging and dynamic competitive landscape. Using a data and insights driven approach, the team identifies and executes on opportunities to accelerate commerce on the multi-billion dollar eBay platform while simultaneously innovating and simplifying the experience for our millions of customers.

You will work very closely with the Director of Monetization and the Pricing analytics team in developing and implementing pricing & promotion strategies, analyzing and recommending specific changes and then taking responsibility for implementing them in the business. Your main focus market will be Germany but you will also be responsible for managing revenue in Austria, Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Switzerland.

Your tasks will include:

  • Owning revenue from our B2C seller base across the above mentioned markets
  • Evolving our B2C pricing strategy, incl. views on category specific pricing, listing fees and additional feature fees
  • Managing levers for GMV (=topline) growth, e.g. promotional activities, special pricing agreements and seller support programs
  • Creation of new revenue streams creating value for additional stakeholder groups, e.g. buyers and partners
  • Leading new customer insights and segmentations as an input to pricing strategy and projects
  • Providing guidance on all customer touchpoints related to fees, e.g. fee pages, listing flows, invoices, customer service calls

Your skills?

  • Genuine enthusiasm for eBay and e-commerce
  • A commercial approach 7+ years of  experience in Pricing or a background in consulting or finance
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key leaders across the business, e.g. Category Leads, Finance, Marketing, Product Development
  • Experience in negotiations, influencing people at different levels
  • Leading projects: A structured approach to planning and execution is needed to drive projects forwards
  • Experience in e-commerce or marketplace businesses as well as a understanding of seller margins is an advantage
