Motors.co.uk is a leading car search site for 2nd hand vehicles for sale, both privately and through car dealerships.

The position

This role reports to the UK Head of Analytics, and is part of the Finance & Analytics team which supports all key aspects of the UK business including Commercial, Product & Technology, Operations and Marketing. As Marketing Analyst you will work closely with the Gumtree and Motors.co.uk Marketing management team to support audience growth and increased user retention, through data driven reporting, insights and recommendations. This role is critical to Gumtree and Motors.co.uk growth efforts by effectively helping decision-making, finding opportunities and driving forward marketing efficiency and effectiveness. As a Marketing Analyst, you will have some media and marketing knowledge but with a strong analytical backing, including proficiency with data tools and sources, thrive on solving highly analytical problems and turn data into meaningful insights. Key Responsibilities:

  • Work hand in hand with the Marketing management team to identify challenges and solve them creatively

  • Create, develop and deliver qualitative and quantitative insights to Marketing managers to proactively seek opportunities for commercial growth

  • Work closely with internal partners to determine success metrics and benchmarks through analysis

  • Report on success of both brand and performance based marketing campaigns for Gumtree and Motors.co.uk

  • Create, maintain and develop performance dashboards for key marketing activity such as CRM, Social, SEO, Paid Search

  • Produce Media Mix Modelling on a quarterly basis to analyse effectiveness of full media mix

  • Develop an understanding of existing audience measurement and brand tracking tools, and proactively provide the marketing team with key insights, trends and opportunities

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proficiency in analytics, statistical & visualisation tools. Proficient knowledge of SQL, Tableau & Excel are essential.

  • Strong background in quantitative thinking and data analysis, data modelling and statistics essential

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or a related field

  • Knowledge of: Google Analytics, Hive, DFP/Google Ad Manager, Google Data Studio, Salesforce, Python, R desirable

  • Experience manipulating large data sets and interpreting data trends

  • Able to work using a multitude of disparate data sources and tools; working out of a data warehouse or from smaller imperfect datasets

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English

  • Comfortable communicating with peers, business partners and non-analytics audiences!
