Responsibilities:

  • Design architecture for the next generation of ebay’s catalog of products and connect it to current systems running in production for an optimized user experience.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Engineering teams to:with multiple technical stakeholders in different business units (Search, Selling, Buyer Experience) to come up with and execute robust requirements for a scalable architecture.
  • Work hand-in-hand with engineering teams to: 

    Translate architecture to reality

    Bridging technical gaps

    Design the architecture’s required technological stack

  • Guide the teams in the onboarding of new technologies.
  • Engage in 30% hands-on work on complex functionalities for the win!

What do you need to join the eBay IL family?

What technical skills do you possess?

  • 15+ years of experience in software development.
  • At least 5 years of experience as team lead/architect/tech-lead
  • Expertise in distributed systems, deep hands-on  knowledge of microservices .
  • Proven experience in bringing large scale systems to production, both synchronous and asynchronous.
  • A holistic view of the architecture role: from production to technological integration - and beyond
  • Deep understanding of batch job processing 
  • In depth knowledge of design patterns
  • Good knowledge in Graph DB’S -  a plus

What tools are in your toolbox?

  • Java, Spring Boot expert.
  • Extensive experience in NoSQL  and relational DB’s.
  • Extensive experience in Linux.
  • Extensive experience of Kafka
  • Extensive experience of Apache Spark , Kubernetes - a plus.

What kind of a team player are you?

  • Do you possess excellent interpersonal skills?
  • Are you able to influence the matrix environment?
  • Can you work with development centers in multiple geographies? If you do, it’!  a plus!

What degrees do we require?

B.Sc in computer science\equivalent field.
