Role Description

We are seeking an experienced brand/partnership strategy and marketing professional to be a key member of our new Brand Engagement team. As a Brand Strategist, you’ll work hand-in-hand with Brand Partnership Leads, Customer Success (and of course, the brands themselves) to define what success looks like for brands on the platform. With those goals in mind, you’ll create brand-specific strategies that use eBay Ads’ suite of advertising solutions, first-party data, and other valuable eBay assets. Your knowledge of ecommerce, understanding of marketplace trends, passion for eBay’s Ads unique value proposition, and innate storytelling skills will help you build compelling, insights-driven recommendations.

You will report to the Head of Brand Ads & Partnerships and regularly collaborate with cross-functional teams across the eBay Ads organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain deep knowledge of eBay Ads suite, and understanding of how pieces can work together in support of clients business goals

  • Understand eBay’s deep eco-system of seller opportunities, account analytics, and tools so they can be used to solve partner challenges

  • Partner closely with Customer Insights and Marketing to build data led stories and partner solutions

  • Partner with Brand Partnership team to understand individual client needs, timelines, and best formats for communicating stories

  • Partner with product and other cross-functional teams to act as point of contact and deliver collected customer feedback to help prioritize requests and build roadmaps

  • Partner with Customer Success and Ads Operations to ensure concepts. ideas and stories can be implemented in a smooth and efficient manner

  • Collaborate with analytics and other partners to measure impact of eBay Ads on client’s business, and see opportunities for growth, experimentation, and optimization

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years of e-commerce media, Shopper Marketing, digital media, or partnership development

  • Understanding of CPC, CPM, CPA, and other buying mechanics

  • Distinctive creative, strategic and storytelling capabilities with a strong track record of ideation and implementation

  • Strong communication skills in both business and technical partners, as peers and upwards, on cross-functional teams

  • Ability to work within a highly matrixed organization with widely varied partners

  • BA/BS

Ideal profile:

  • 10+ years experience in digital media, with a focus on partner marketing

  • Deep understanding of search, display, ad-tech, and other media issues

  • Demonstrable experience to thrive in a highly matrixed and multilayered environment; executive presence

  • MBA or equivalent
