The eBay for Charity team is responsible for maintaining and improving one of the largest fundraising platforms in the world. Our sites help people people do good by supporting the causes they love.
You will have the opportunity to work across the eBay Marketplaces organization integrating charity into Payments, Billing, Selling and Shopping experiences.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on large pieces of innovative technology to touch many lives as the tech lead for the 13 person eBay for Charity team.
Contribute to the team's work with high-quality, well-tested and scalable code (~30%)
Coach and mentor junior and mid-level members of your team
Improve agile development and continuous delivery processes
Collaborate with other engineering teams
Ensure code quality and maintainability by evolving architecture and tech stack, code reviews, refactoring, standards and improving build and test systems
Integrate with technology stacks maintained by other teams at eBay
Participate in complete software development process from planning, requirements elicitation and documentation to design, implementation, testing, code reviews, and maintenance
10+ years of experience as a senior/lead Java engineer and/or system architect, including 3+ years of experience with enterprise level software development
Experience with eCommerce systems a strong plus
Masters degree in Computer Science or comparable field, or comparable (in scope and complexity) work experience.
Deep knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, web technologies and databases (bonus: node.js, react)
Advanced understanding of design, implementation and operation of distributed services and APIs
Passion for agile software development, product discovery and continuous deployment
High aspiration for quality balanced with a good sense of pragmatism
Understanding of quality assurance as a task of the entire team to build the best experience for users
Independent and quick adoption of new technologies and concepts
Effective oral and written English communication skills
