Primary Job Responsibilities:

We have large and aggressive goals to grow our advertising revenues in 2021 and are looking for a tech driven candidate to join the entrepreneurial Global Product Solutions team within the overall Global Product Advertising organization. In this role, you will support the regional sales and partnership teams, overseeing the successful integration of eBay’s API with both key and prospective partners. The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is responsible for the success of our technical engagements by providing thought leadership on best practice implementations. The TAM is a solution-oriented advisor and must be able to understand and communicate advanced engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

You will not be expected to build software, but you will be leveraging multiple technologies and tools to manage complex & custom integration projects. The Technical Account Manager is a solution-oriented advisor for our partners and must be able to understand and communicate advanced engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Our key product, Promoted Listings, is currently used by over 1,000,000 sellers globally to drive incremental revenue for their individual businesses, as well as eBay. This is an opportunity to be a part of the team that is helping fuel the $1B advertising business for eBay.

Specifically, your role will be the following

  • API Search Matter Expert (SME)

  • Strong understanding of the API ecosystem and how it relates to our ads business for Promoted Listings and future ad products.

  • Assist customers’ technical requests and take care of any technical issues 

  • Gather and champion partner feedback to help identify potential new features or products for internal developer and product teams

  • Understand competitive capabilities and be able to extract what would most benefit eBay

  • Candidate must be able to quickly grasp and learn new technical subjects and be able to explain them to others

  • Analyze customers’ needs and suggest upgrades or additional features to meet their requirements     

  • Collaborate with Product and Regional Sales teams

  • Be the glue between product management and regional sales/partner teams

  • Ability to influence others – strong customer relationships and account management skills including the ability to influence/advocate eBay’s product and technology offerings/initiatives.

Qualifications

Key/Required Components:

  • 5+ years of work experience in a technical partner-facing role with experience working with DSPs, ad exchanges, SSPs, or ad servers

  • Experience with managing supply side integrations and solid knowledge of the IAB RTB specs and guidelines

  • Experience in a product/technical management role is a plus

  • Proficient leveraging JIRA for managing multiple complex tickets and projects

  • Proficient working knowledge of Excel, Office and Outlook is a must

  • Experience with SQL, web technologies, and API’s are strongly preferred

  • Demonstrable creative thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform in a fluid, fast-paced work environment

  • Experience working with partnership leads, product, and engineering teams - with the ability to break down complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred:

  • Advertising experience working in a media agency, advertiser client, or publisher (E-commerce focused preferred)

  • Experience working with 3rd Party Ad Vendors e.g. DoubleClick, Skai (Formerly Kenshoo), PacVue, etc.

  • Experience working with big and small brands/sellers as advertisers

  • This role will be highly analytical so proven work experience in developing models, performing analysis and composing insights and recommendations

  • Experience in starting/taking new products to market

  • MBA

  • Should be based (or willing to move) to New York, Seattle, or Portland.
