What you’ll work on

  • Identify and analyze the most important customer needs with both qualitative and quantitative approaches so that you can define innovative solutions to their problems at scale

  • Build solutions across the buyer experience and the underlying recommendation algorithms that enable our customers to find amazing products during their shopping journey on eBay

  • Test and learn how the features impact the customer experience on a very regular basis 

  • Partner with engineering, design, analytics, and partner teams to document, implement, and validate your products

What we’re looking for (must have's)

  • 7+ years of deep experience in designing and building both user interfaces and machine learning models at scale

  • Experience writing and running data queries (SQL & Python) and analyzing data to inform product related decisions 

  • Strong history of customer discovery and development (e.g. qualitative research, dogfooding, A/B tests for performance optimization etc.)

  • Exceptional critical thinking and active problem solving skills

  • Ability to both go deep into the details, and shift gears to represent the bigger picture

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) as demonstrated by proven ability to influence others both with and without authority

  • Smarts, humility, and desire to learn and teach

  • BA/BS degree ideally in quantitative, technical area

Nice to have

  • 2+ year of advertising experience 

  • Masters degree and data science background will be preferred
