What you’ll work on
Identify and analyze the most important customer needs with both qualitative and quantitative approaches so that you can define innovative solutions to their problems at scale
Build solutions across the buyer experience and the underlying recommendation algorithms that enable our customers to find amazing products during their shopping journey on eBay
Test and learn how the features impact the customer experience on a very regular basis
Partner with engineering, design, analytics, and partner teams to document, implement, and validate your products
What we’re looking for (must have's)
7+ years of deep experience in designing and building both user interfaces and machine learning models at scale
Experience writing and running data queries (SQL & Python) and analyzing data to inform product related decisions
Strong history of customer discovery and development (e.g. qualitative research, dogfooding, A/B tests for performance optimization etc.)
Exceptional critical thinking and active problem solving skills
Ability to both go deep into the details, and shift gears to represent the bigger picture
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) as demonstrated by proven ability to influence others both with and without authority
Smarts, humility, and desire to learn and teach
BA/BS degree ideally in quantitative, technical area
Nice to have
2+ year of advertising experience
Masters degree and data science background will be preferred
