As an integral leader in our People Team, you will lead a team at the forefront of understanding our employee needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform the strategy, design and adoption of our internal, people-related products and services. You will apply a user experience lens to the People organization’s work, driving for relevance, usability and simplicity for employees, leaders, job candidates and the people team itself. You will shape our core principles for how we think about our internal customers, deliver services, technology solutions, and how we communicate with them, including continuous refinement of our internal self-service portal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead team on designing persona driven experiences and partnering across the People teams to align program design, processes, technology, and analytics to make those experiences come to life
  • Build a experience focused culture and community of practitioners
  • Lead a small team including designers, researchers, content strategists and marketing experts, providing clear expectations, inspirational leadership, growth and development. 
  • Apply a wide range of multidisciplinary research skills, including design thinking and user journeys, to understand current vs. desired state experiences and moments that matter to our employees. Identify friction points, gaps in the employee experience or usability of process, technology, programs and services. 
  • Deliver insights and influence outcomes with a long-term and cross-company perspective for issues of concern and opportunity. Employ expert, data-driven storytelling and analytical excellence to persuade at the executive level to inform the People Team strategy. 
  • Lead the self-service strategy, design and development, ensuring employees are able to efficiently find the information and resources they need at scale using the internal portal. 
  • Drive experience improvements utilizing a variety of channels at moments that matter to drive adoption. Tasks may include content creation, compelling, usable and accessible online experiences, feedback loops and marketing communications. 
  • Prioritize projects and features based on impact and alignment with the team’s long-term goals and strategy, collaborating across groups to facilitate improvements to the employee experience. 

Job Requirements

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to simplify complex data and problems, and to communicate effectively at an executive level. 
  • Experience with user centered design thinking, user journeys and creating personas. 
  • Experience translating research into design, product, and strategic decisions. 
  • Ability to be an advocate for the role of user experience as a discipline, in strategic decision-making and program development
  • Excellent people and leadership skills, with comfort leading research in an ambiguous space, working to define methods and approaches
  • Experience with website design, HTML, Workday, or other related technology platforms a plus. 
  • 10 plus years in User Centered Experience Design preferred, and Human resource experience a plus, but not required
  • Ability to travel; likely 1-3 times per quarter
