The Payments, Billing & Risk Organization focuses on defining innovative solutions that enable customers to safely buy and sell on the eBay platform. Both buyers and sellers require payment capabilities: buyers require frictionless experiences and relevant checkout choices, while sellers require the ability to transact with transparent and timely access to funds. 

Managing payments for buyers and sellers requires analysis and performance management of buyer payment options, funding cycle monitoring, seller experience, UI/UX as it relates to the reporting and conveyance of money movement on behalf of the seller, and the disbursement of funds to the seller’s bank account. This role is essential in helping to manage these experiences effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be charged with applying a firm grasp of e-Commerce feature knowledge, customer use cases, and the friction points between Buyers and Sellers in an online marketplace in order to drive payment solutions within eBay

  • Invest in understanding, and, encouraging empathy for the obstacles Sellers may face when onboarding and receiving their funds from eBay

  • Proactively pilot initiatives to avoid reactive customer challenges

  • Partner cross functionally with Business, Strategy, Marketing, Product, Engineering and Analytics teams and champion the right solutions to meet the business needs

  • Synthesize and transform data into recommendations for internal Product and Operations teams we partner with

  • Formulate and interpret metrics to optimize Seller success and reduce negative experiences that are discovered

  • Craft business cases and advise business requirements for new initiatives and opportunities

  • Understand and incorporate know-your-customer (KYC) and risk rules into business initiatives and processes to sustain efficient and compliant practices at eBay

  • Review metrics regularly and own action plans for monitoring and improving key performance indicators aligned to successful customer outcomes

  • Employ structured thinking to synthesize recommendations to partners based on imperfect data from multiple internal and external sources

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, and studies related to market and data analysis, business case creation, and opportunity sizing

Strong structured solution skills with ability to break down large and complex problems, technical integrations/constructs

Strong documentation, discipline, communication skills and comfort presenting to stakeholders 

Ability to work independently and cross functionally to drive stakeholder engagement and delivery
