Emerging Markets is responsible for a portfolio of fast-growing classifieds businesses within eBay Classifieds. These include our general classifieds site in South Africa (Gumtree.co.za) and our Real Estate classifieds business in Mexico (Vivanuncios.com.mx).

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of growing high-quality organic traffic in the marketplace or e-commerce environments. If you are an experienced SEO or Growth Product Manager who thrives on delivering business value and passionate about driving organic growth, we’d love to meet you. Reporting to our Head of Product, you will be based in our San Francisco office with occasional travel to our offices in Mexico City, Cape Town and Shanghai.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver SEO traffic goals
  • Monitor, analyze and report on channel performance, including traffic, leads and keywords
  • Improve search rankings by managing existing keywords, building optimization plans and identifying new growth opportunities
  • Establish and drive link building initiatives by partnering with agencies
  • Prioritize, develop and launch continuous experiments which seek to drive SEO KPIs
  • Monitor SEO health metrics and actively identify areas of improvements
  • Drive product UX and conversion optimization initiatives
  • Work on personalized recommendation initiatives
  • Define user stories and maintain a well-groomed backlog
  • Work with engineering to ensure SEO standards are continuously maintained
  • Keep pace with search engine and industry trends to identify growth areas. Evangelize SEO across the business to ensure teams think ‘SEO first’
  • Partner with other product managers, local markets and agencies to drive SEO content strategy and creation, including site architecture, taxonomy, URL structure, metadata and on-page copy

Experience + Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of SEO and product management experience
  • Proven track record of driving SEO strategies in marketplace or e-commerce environments
  • Experience in optimizing site structure, internal linking, meta tags, crawlability, redirects, sitemaps, app indexation and code quality
  • Strong technical SEO background
  • Ability to use relevant tools for website analysis, competitor analysis and keyword analysis
  • Passion for UX, always operating with a ‘customer first’ attitude
  • Ability to run with UX & conversion optimization initiatives
  • Comfortable managing partners across global environments, cultures, locations, and time zones
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative in nature
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with multiple priorities
  • Experience Real Estate or Motors vertical a plus
  • Proficient in English, ability to speak Spanish a plus
