The eBay Ads team is reinventing advertising at eBay! We are one of the fastest growing teams at eBay. We’re crafting innovative brand and seller solutions to optimize the ad monetization and experience on eBay. We are seeking an experienced leader to establish mutual relationships with key strategic partners in efforts to enable new products and services.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial leader who is a creative problem solver and doer.. They have the tried and confirmed capability of ‘identifying and closing’ strategic partnerships and in the e-commerce and online advertising landscape.

This role requires a high level of intellectual curiosity, strategic and analytical skills, a strong work ethic, interpersonal skills and ability to lead cross functional teams even without formal authority. It requires expertise in collaborating with, and influencing senior leaders. This role will report to the Head of Ads New Ventures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep understanding of the eBay Ads strategy, strengths and capabilities.

  • Identify and prioritize targets for strategic partnerships (and M&A if necessary) based on knowledge of the ecosystems’ capabilities and the opportunities for value exchange.

  • Initiate and lead exploratory talks with partner targets in collaboration with internal cross-functional partners as required.

  • Successfully close deals to enable new growth business.

  • Inform and influence other eBay leaders on partnerships and M&A strategies.

  • Inform and influence partners to adopt and integrate eBay Ads solutions.

  • Produce analysis and reports of partners’ feedback and performance.

  • Represent eBay Ads in external meetings with executives, both internally and externally.

  • Help the Product Marketing team build the right narrative and positioning for customers and partners.

  • Own work streams within the quarterly and annual planning processes

Requirements

  • 8+ years of working experience in the internet technology industry

  • BS/BA degree required. MBA degree preferred.

  • A passion for building new businesses.

  • Previous business development and/or go-to-market experience, ideally in e-commerce and digital advertising.

  • Experience in networking and engaging the C-level of any potential partner target.

  • Consistent track record of developing, negotiating and signing deals with leading market share players.

  • Experience working in a matrix cross functional environment composed of both technical and non-technical coworkers

  • Ability to deliver complex projects independently and quickly even under ambiguous circumstances.

  • Skilled in persuasive analysis, presentation and communications at the executive level.

  • Experience and expertise in strategy development including hypotheses development, modeling, project design and management.
