As Head of Program management, you’ll lead a team of talented program managers driving the operations of our ads and personalization groups which has a mission of reinventing the shopping experience by creating new growth opportunities for sellers and buyers.

The Role

eBay accelerates and operationalizes the tech-led reimagination strategy and culture shift related to this. As part of this endeavor, you will be enabler to execute this strategy and responsible for driving large scale cross-functional product initiatives and leading the execution across multiple teams at eBay. You will be supporting the growth and development of technical program managers. The technical program managers are the functional lead and the pillar of our vertical and horizontal executions.

You will have the critical mission to tie the team together and align the group to execute against their mission, solving the customer problems. Not only, you will drive the execution, we expect technical program managers to be the voice of accountability for the group. For this reason, you will be as a leader of program management including your team, deeply integrated into the global technology group of ads and personalization in order to understand their ecosystem and break down their challenges.

The role will report into the Vice President of Product and Engineering for Advertising and Merchandising.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for building, managing, and setting direction for teams as a whole as well as for individual team members’ success

  • As a leader, you will be responsible for identifying and solving systemic, organization-wide problems, influencing, and building strong relationships. Partners include Product Management and Engineering to define needs to support org-level strategic planning and execution as well as metrics, program requirements and scope

  • Viewed as the cross-functional lead during product reviews and responsible for designing and executing process and strategy frameworks that facilitate product-related goal setting, decision making and business impact

  • Articulate to stakeholders your team’s technology requirements, goals and milestones

  • Integrate your technical knowledge, subject matter expertise and understanding trends to make sound decisions and influence business direction through data-driven analysis

  • Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery

  • Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases

  • Experience either in building large scale enterprise product/systems or product at scale.

  • Experience moving technical or engineering programs and products from inception to delivery and experience articulating the impact using metrics

  • Experience managing and scaling large growth, highly matrixed product teams

  • Inclusive people leader with a track record of building and managing teams that drive impact

  • Experience leading complex strategic initiatives. Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills

  • You have equal obsession for customer challenges and engineering complexities   

  • You love to collaborate and learn from others

  • You are an exceptional communicator who can be the catalyst of the inspiration within the ads product engineering group and be the brand voice of group in the technology community
