eBay’s Tax Function

eBay’s global footprint, evolving business model, the dynamic and complex nature of e-commerce, provide the tax team with substantial opportunities to impact and support the business. eBay’s tax organization has built and sustained positive relationships with the businesses and contributes meaningfully and measurably to the bottom line. eBay’s tax team is led by its VP Tax – Carol Tabrizi. Carol, a former PwC Tax Partner, reports to the CFO and leads a global team of app. 45 professionals.

The global tax operations and strategy team is accountable for the global tax provision and related financial reporting, all aspects of income tax compliance (federal, state, foreign), transfer pricing, tax forecasting, and tax technology. Significant technology investments continue to be made to optimize the function.

Opportunity – Manager, International Tax Reporting

The International Tax Manager will be responsible for supporting the International Tax Operations team with the international components of the US federal income tax return, US international tax accounting and international tax compliance obligations as well as assisting in the development of worldwide tax reporting and compliance processes. The International Tax Manager reports directly to the Director of International Tax Operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and prepare US international tax calculations, including E&P, Subpart F inclusions, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, foreign tax credits, tax basis, etc.

  • Manage and prepare Forms 5471, 8858, 1118 and other international tax reporting/disclosures for the US federal income tax return ensuring timely and accurate tax return filings

  • Manage aspects of the US GAAP tax accounting of non-US operations for the quarterly close process

  • Review tax planning ideas to determine impacts to the US federal income tax return and worldwide tax provision

  • Assist with the global co-sourced or outsourced compliance engagements

  • Assist in the analysis and computation of estimated income tax payments

  • Collect data and assist with transfer pricing analysis/documentation requirements, including country-by-country reporting

  • Work cross-functionally with the business, finance, and tax teams to gather information to address and resolve tax issues and operationalize business models

  • Identify and support tax technology and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in accounting, CPA required

  • 4+ years’ equivalent industry or Big Four tax experience in U.S. international tax

  • Solid understanding of key US international technical provisions, including FTC, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F, treaty related issues

  • Outstanding interpersonal/communication skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Strong organization skills, including ability to work practically and effectively

  • Willingness to embrace technology

  • Knowledge of ONESOURCE

  • Experience with Alteryx is a plus
